Visible Mending - Day 1

Give your worn and beloved clothing a second life through the beautiful and intentional art of visible mending! This beginner-friendly class celebrates imperfection by transforming holes, tears, and worn spots into stunning decorative features rather than hiding them away. In this hands-on and empowering class, participants will:

  • Learn foundational hand-stitching and embroidery techniques used in visible mending

  • Explore Japanese-inspired Sashiko stitching, darning, and decorative patch application

  • Transform damaged or worn garments and textiles into wearable art

  • Discover how mending mindfully reduces textile waste and connects us to a rich global tradition of repair and resourcefulness

  • Leave with a mended piece and a set of skills to carry into your everyday wardrobe

Whether you're a complete beginner with a needle and thread or simply looking to slow down and stitch intentionally, this class is a welcoming space to learn, create, and rethink the way we care for our clothes. Bring a garment in need of some love—or we'll have materials ready for you!

This is a 90 min class that will meet over two days, September 24th and October 1st or October 13th and October 20th.  All people ages 16 and up are encouraged to attend.  All materials provided and the cost is per person.
