Intro to Needle Felting - Sculpting Animals and Beyond

Discover the wonderfully therapeutic and surprisingly addictive art of needle felting—a no-sew fiber art technique that transforms fluffy wool roving into charming three-dimensional sculptures using a single barbed needle! This beginner-friendly class for ages 16 and up focuses on building adorable felted sculptures, with animals as your jumping-off point. In this hands-on class, participants will:

  • Learn the fundamental needle felting techniques of stabbing, shaping, and sculpting wool roving into three-dimensional forms

  • Build a complete animal sculpture from scratch—think hedgehogs, birds, foxes, cats, and more—guided step by step through the process

  • Explore color blending and layering to add realistic detail, texture, and personality to their creatures

  • Learn shaping and finishing techniques to bring their animal to life with expressive features and dimensional depth

  • Work at their own pace in a relaxed, supportive environment that welcomes total beginners

Whether you're a fiber arts enthusiast looking to try something new or a complete crafting beginner searching for your next creative outlet, needle felting offers a meditative, deeply satisfying experience that produces an adorably unique sculpture you'll be genuinely proud to display.

This class is 3 hours. All people ages 16 and up are encouraged to attend. All materials provided and the cost is per person.
